Eighth Report presented by the National Rapporteur
The Eighth Report of the Dutch National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings was presented to the Dutch government on Friday 15 October 2010. State Secretary Mr. Fred Teeven from the Ministry of Security and Justice accepted the Eighth report on behalf of the Minister of Security and Justice and the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment.
The report was presented during the international conference ‘Monitoring Mechanisms in the Fight against Human Trafficking’, organized by the National Rapporteur and the Dutch House of Representatives, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Bureau of the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings.
The Eighth report is a special publication, reviewing ten years of rapporteurship. The recommendations made are discussed extensively, as well as the implementation of the recommendations. Chapter 3 provides an overview of data over the period 2000-2009 and gives an insight into trends. The final chapter looks into the future of promising recommendations.
